About
My main research interest is eighteenth-century Scottish poetry, particularly the work of Robert Burns. I am currently working on a reception history of Burns, focusing particularly upon the influences of class and gender on his national and international reputation.
I have also research interests in abolitionist verse in Caribbean anglophone history, the work of Scottish and British women poets, digital humanities, the social and cultural history of alcohol consumption, and Greco-Roman literature and history.
